Awana is an international, nondenominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekday clubs and programs for three-year-olds through high schoolers. The acrostic AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (II Timothy 2:15).
The pledge to the Awana flag describes the purpose of Awana best. It says, "I pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the Awana Clubs, whose goal is to Reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him."
Awana Clubs International supplies needed leadership training through regional Awana missionaries and provides support materials for churches, which staff and administrate Awana programs. Awana leaders are committed believers who volunteer time to minister in the Awana Club.
Calvary Memorial Church’s Awana program meets Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. in the CMC gymnasium. The program is open to any interested members of the community.
